Skanska provided preconstruction and construction management services for the renovation and expansion of the University of Kentucky's Gatton Building, which included renovating approximately 139,000-SF of existing space and a 60,000-SF expansion. The classrooms include both tiered and flat classrooms furnished with state-of-the-art projection systems as well as smaller breakout rooms to facilitate high impact peer-to-peer learning. The complex contains signature spaces, including a large auditorium, trading floor and innovative laboratories to support action learning, creative problem solving and leadership development. The faculty and administration component consists of office space for faculty, staff and graduate assistants. The building allows Gatton College to educate more strong and principled business leaders as part of the university's increased enrollment. At the start of the project, the building served 2,800 students. Now after renovations, it can hold up to 4000 students.
