Montgomery County Public Schools, Blacksburg and Riner, Virginia
Skanska oversaw the construction of three projects on two different campuses for Montgomery County Public Schools. In Blacksburg, Virginia, a new 281,000-SF high school was constructed that houses 1600 students. In Riner, Virginia, a new 181,000-SF high school was constructed that houses 800 students and the existing high school was renovated and expanded and converted into a 122,000-SF, 600-student middle school.
Skanska’s services have included overseeing the administration of the design/build contract, management of the master project schedule and budget, job cost accounting, constructability reviews, value management, coordination with regulatory agencies, on-site quality assurance inspections, and coordination of the commissioning and closeout process.
