Skanska provided construction management services for two new LEED silver, life sciences research buildings for the City University of New York (CUNY) on campus at the City College of New York (CCNY). Both buildings, totaling 400,775-SF, house an extensive range of research facilities in the areas of biology, chemistry, physics, astronomy, nanotechnology and computational sciences. The Advanced Science Research Center (ARSC) provides space for state-of-the-art research and development laboratories and supporting spaces, and contains clean room laboratories, a cafeteria and 100-seat lecture hall. The CCNY Science Facility provides 150,142-SF of space for state-of-the-art research and teaching laboratories, predominantly in the areas of biology, chemistry and physics. The four- and five-story, steel framed buildings share a 114,104-SF ground floor and animal research lab located in the basement. A campus green sits between the two buildings.
